Welcome to Doomscroll. My guest is David Adler, a general coordinator of the Progressive International. Adler served on the foreign policy advisory team for Senator Bernie Sanders and directed policy for Yanis Varoufakis and the Democracy in Europe Movement (DiEM25).
Last fall, David was aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international humanitarian mission that sought to bring life-saving aid to Palestine. Forty-two nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, the flotilla was intercepted by Israeli naval forces. Flotilla crew members were kidnapped, imprisoned, and subjected to physical abuse and psychological torture. David joins us to tell the story of this mission and the broader international solidarity movement for a free Palestine.
