Welcome to Doomscroll. My guest is Ezra Klein, an opinion columnist at the New York Times and the host of The Ezra Klein Show. He is a co-author, along with Derek Thompson, of a new book titled Abundance.
Ezra’s vision for the future was so bland, idk what I was expecting but damn the center is fresh out of ideas! The one interesting thing was the dueling views on environmentalism which Charles C Mann did a great job of breaking down in his book The Wizard and The Prophet. Other than that, very milquetoast conversation 😔.
Ezra Klein is a like a cartoon character called the smug moron. His whole job is to make excuses for why tech and liberalism don’t work. Fortunately for us, he’s too stupid to do it well.
I find Ezra Klein’s perspective wholly loathesome. He serves up the neo liberal stench that gave us the banking debacle of 2008 and 2009. He makes me think of Clinton’s decision not to regulate derivatives, Obama’s persistent concessions to the corporate class and a host of scars inflcted on the working class by people who purport to be our friends
Dem here, I just watched this dude on Bill Maher, Bill asked which democrat can do what Elon Musk does but in a sane way? I say Ezra Klein. Run man, RUN!!! You make sense!!
