I’ve been saying we’re back in the 70s for a while. The neoliberal free love era (2010s Obama poptimism) papered over a huge crack in the neoliberal coalition in the same way the 60s counterculture dominated the discourse while hiding growing weakness in the New Deal setup. The 70s was that crackup coming to the surface, in the same way that 2016 was the start of the same for the neoliberals.
I really appreciate this breakdown of the current political and economic landscape. It's wild how the traditional left-right divide doesn’t really capture what’s happening anymore. The tension between finance and manufacturing feels like it’s at the heart of so many issues, and it's interesting how these economic divides are playing out in today's politics. I’m definitely curious about where things go from here—this whole shift feels like it's just getting started.
Can you explain why you think finance is dem and industry is gop? There’s still unions boosting Dems and Bitcoin guys, also big banks, seem pretty Republican.

Elon got boosted in POE2 and without a doubt paid someone to get that time in Diablo for him. 🤓☝️
How would elon find the time to be that good at games and also run 100 different companies. Something doesn’t add up …

Marxist analysis seems to pretend that ethnicity does not exist as a politically motivating factor.
The industry vs finance thing is true to some extent, but ethnicity and race are important too.
