I’m excited to announce my new video podcast: Doomscroll. You can now watch episode #01 with guest Brace Belden. I’ve been hard at work on this project for many months and I’m excited to finally share it with all of you!
There’s a few beverage-centric episodes of TrueAnon where brace talks about it. Basically the 411 is:
Sapporo, a Japanese macrobrewer, buys this old ass historic brewery on bad advice that they could brew their hyper-tuned macro beer there. Long story short, Anchor Steam was not equipped for that kind of brewing and Sapporo just cut it loose.
Unionization is a convenient scapegoat but it sounds like classic corporate mismanagement of something special to the area.
I wonder if unionization had anything to do with Anchor Steam closing down.
