Listen now | From Myspace “Top 8” to VR glasses (less powerful than ideology), Lil Internet joins me to discuss how new technologies are shaping creative life in the 21st century. This episode is part of a series of one-on-one conversations with Channel creators.
Very interesting conversation, but I think there's some conceptual naivete in assigning too much of the cultural and political outcomes of today to the physics of platforms, considering how deliberate and well funded the culture war has been engaged in by conservatives since pretty much the New Deal, kicking into high gear somewhere in the mid to late 60s. Physics of platforms has been more of a tactical concern about specifics, but the broad strokes are still dictated by capital.
