While irony is generational it's also a thing of age. People are more ironic and edgy in their teens and early 20s. Gen-X:ers certainly were but you had ironic t-shirts in the 80s as well. The movie Slackers while made in 1990 is a product of the 80s. So like late boomers even. My gut is telling me jazz age cats were edge lords, but i don't know. All i know is that with age it irony get's tiresome.
